About This Course
R is the standard language for statistics and visualization in biology, and the foundation for RNA-seq, microbiome and network analysis. This course teaches R from zero with biological datasets.
You learn R objects and data frames, clean messy tables with the tidyverse, apply descriptive statistics and hypothesis tests correctly, and create clear figures with ggplot2 inside reproducible R scripts and R Markdown reports.
Who this course is for
- Life-science students with no coding experience
- Researchers who analyse lab data in Excel and want something better
- Learners preparing for RNA-seq or metagenomics courses
Prerequisites
Basic school mathematics and familiarity with spreadsheets.
Final project
Analyse and visualize a public gene-expression dataset, test differences between groups and produce a short R Markdown report.
