About This Course
Large public projects such as TCGA have profiled thousands of tumours. This course shows you how to use that data to ask real cancer biology questions without generating new data.
You download and organize TCGA and GEO datasets, compare tumour and normal expression, explore somatic mutations, run survival analysis, identify candidate biomarkers and present your findings.
Who this course is for
- Students and researchers in cancer biology
- Learners who want research projects using public data
- Clinicians and scientists exploring biomarker discovery
Prerequisites
RNA-Seq Data Analysis or WES Analysis (or equivalent), and basic R.
Final project
Compare tumour and normal samples for one cancer type in TCGA and present candidate biomarkers with survival evidence.
